Join the Memphis Library Foundation for a virtual event, "Cocktails & Conversation: Votes for Women!" on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at 6:30 pm.

This event will focus on the 19th Amendment, better known as the Women's Voting Act, how it was passed (including Tennessee's key role), and its impact since passage. Join us to hear an impressive panel with an impeccable background and knowledge on the issue.

The panel includes:

  • Paula Casey - Author and Co-Chair of the Tennessee Woman Suffrage Heritage Trail Project
  • Bill Haltom - Attorney and Author of Why Can’t Mother Vote?
  • Gloria Browne-Marshall - Attorney and Author of She Took Justice
  • Dr. Russell Wigginton - Historian and Educator
Each of the panelists has unique insight into the events that took place during the time of the 19th Amendment's passage and thereafter. Like all virtual events, this event is a great opportunity to participate in a social event in the comfort of your home. All proceeds will support the Memphis Library Foundation's work to support the Memphis Public Libraries, which benefit all of Memphis and Shelby County.
